Global Financial Centres Index
The 38th edition of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) was released on 25 September 2025. Published by Z/Yen, the City of London’s leading commercial think-tank, and the China Development Institute, the report ranks 120 financial centres worldwide based on 140 instrumental factors. New York retained its status as the world’s leading financial centre, with London a close second. The report identifies Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Mauritius as the top three financial centres for the Middle East and Africa region. All three are also identified as being part of the 15 worldwide financial centres most likely to grow in significance in the next two to three years.
